Bumble gives week off to employees to help with burnout

CEO of thedating-app Bumble, Whitney Wolfe Herd, announced this week off for the company’s700 employees as a paid vacation to help with the burnout due to the pandemic.
Aspokeswoman said the week off is in addition to the company’s normal vacationallowance, reported CNBC.
Bumble saidin a statement that like most people, “our global team has had a verychallenging time during the pandemic.”
“As vaccination rates have increased and restriction havebegun to ease, we wanted to give our teams around the world and opportunity toshut off and focus on themselves for a week,” it added.
CNBC reported that in a tweet, which is no longer available,Bumble’s Head of Editorial Content Clare O’Connor said Wolfe Herd had“correctly intuited our collective burnout.”
“In the U.S. especially, where vacation days are notoriouslyscarce, it feels like a big deal,” O’Connor added in the widely reported tweeton Monday.
In April, Bumble had revealed its plan on Twitter to giveits staff a “fully offline” week-long vacation.
The female-focused dating app Bumble got listed on the NewYork Stock Exchange in February in which it raised $2.2 billion.
