Meta working on AI models for the metaverse

Meta Platforms Inc. (NYSE: FB) is working on a model of artificial intelligence allowing people to generate their world through speech, said CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday.
At the company’s live-streamed “Inside the Lab” event, Zuckerberg said that metaverse will be the successor to the mobile internet.
"The key to unlocking a lot of these advances is AI," he added.
Meta is working on an AI model that will allow people to create a world by speech and generate aspects.

"As we advance this technology further, you'll be able to create nuanced worlds to explore and share experiences with others, with just your voice," said Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg also said that the social media giant is working on AI research for better conversations with voice assistants.
Meta’s Project CAIRaoke was "a fully end-to-end neural model for building on-device assistants," he said.
In addition to that, Meta is also working on a universal speech translator which would provide instant speech-to-speech translation.

The company had earlier aimed to translate all written languages for its AI systems.
The social media company has recently changed its name and has made large investments in building metaverse.
Meta missed earnings estimates for the fourth quarterat $3.67 as compared to the $3.84 that analysts were expecting. The company also predicted weaker-than-expected revenue growth in the next quarter.
Meta announced earlier that its new artificial intelligence supercomputer will be the fastest in the world once completed in mid-2022.
