• Ukraine has raised $35 million via cryptocurrencies since the start of the war
• The country has increased the number of acceptable cryptocurrencies for donations
Ukraine increased the number of cryptocurrencies it is accepting for donations for its military as Russia intensified the attack against the country.
Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov said the country will also accept dogecoin as a donation.
“Now even meme can support our army and save lives from Russian invaders,” Fedorov tweeted.
Fedorov on Tuesday tweeted about Aid For Ukraine, which a project by the Ukrainian government, Everstake and a cryptocurrency blockchain platform called Solana. Ukraine is also accepting non-fungible tokens or NFTs as donations.
According to blockchain analystics company, Elliptic, Ukraine has raised $35 million since the start of the Russian invasion.
The co-founder of blockchain platform Polkadot, Gavin Wood donated $5 million worth of the DOT cryptocurrency, said Fedorov.
Ukraine started accepting cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, ether and a stablecoin called tether for donations on February 26. As the attack from Russia intensifies, the country has increased the number of acceptable cryptocurrencies for donations.

Bitcoin’s price jumped as much as 16% on Tuesday, as Russian intensified the war on Ukraine, while the West up sanctions.
The country has also managed to raise money through war bonds, bringing in about 8.14 billion Ukrainian hryvnia ($270 million).
Fedorov urged major cryptocurrency exchanges last week to block accounts of Russian users. Binance said it would not block accounts of all Russians, but instead block addresses of users that had been sanctioned.
Crypto exchange Uniswap designed a function allowing people to convert any Ethereum-based digital currencies into ether to donate to the Ukrainian government.
