Apple (NYSE: AAPL) said on Tuesday it will host its annual spring product launch event, with the tagline “Peek Performance,” virtually on March 8.
The company is expected to launch a new low-cost iPhone model in the event which will be streamed on YouTube and Apple’s website.
Last year, the iPhone maker hosted its spring event in April launching high-end iPads and the iMac computer.
According to reports, Apple is expected to announce a new low-cost iPhone with 5G support and a fingerprint reader.
Apple currently offers a low-cost iPhone called the iPhone SE which costs $399 and was launched in 2020. The device also has Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Apple is also expected to release the latest version of iPhone software, iOS 15.4 with additional features including facial recognition while wearing mask, and contactless credit card payments.
Other than spring launch events, Apple also conducts fall events which launch high-end iPhone models ahead of the holiday season.
The tech giant also hosts annual developer conference in June called WWDC.
