Russian forces targeted the outskirts of Kyiv on Wednesday despite promising to limit attacks after peace talks between the two countries.

Moscow on Tuesday had agreed to limit its operations near Kyiv, and the northern Ukrainian city of Chernihiv as the countries make progress in talks to end the war.

WSJ reported that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said talks Tuesday in Turkey between Ukrainian and Russian delegates didn’t represent a turning point in the conflict.

“No one said that the sides have made headway,” he said. “We can’t point to anything particularly promising.”
