President Joe Biden said that Russian President Vladimir Putin needed to be put on trial for war crimes related to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He said that evidence needed to be gathered to hold him “accountable”.
Over the weekend, Ukraine reported mass killings of civilians by Russian-controlled troops in the town of Bucha, northwest of Ukraine’s capital of Kyiv. Calling out the Russian leader, Biden said, “He is a war criminal.”
“This guy is brutal, and what’s happening in Bucha is outrageous and everyone’s seen it,” Biden told reporters.
