Ukraine has once again requested NATO for more arms and ammunition to defend itself from Russia’s ceaseless attack for the past 41 days.
Many member nations of the North-Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) have supplied Ukraine with weapons since Russia attacked the country. However, Ukraine’s Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said that this is not enough.
“My agenda is very simple. It only has three items on it. It’s weapons, weapons, and weapons,” Kuleba said as he arrived in Brussels, Belgium for a meeting with NATO members, reported CNBC.
Kuleba’s requests have borne fruit as the US will send new weapon systems to Ukraine after NATO foreign ministers agreed to accelerate arms deliveries in response to Russia’s invasion, reported Al Jazeera.
In addition to the US, 30 other countries would also be supplying. Ukraine with weapons to defend itself against the Russian onslaught.
The Czech Republic was the first NATO country earlier this week to announce the deployment of tanks to Ukraine.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg warned about Russia’s advances from north Ukraine towards the east.
“President Putin aims to try to control the whole of Donbas and to establish a land bridge. We have seen no indication that President Putin has changed his ambition to control the whole of Ukraine and also to rewrite the international order,” he said.
