•Russian soldiers have damaged 938 educational institutions and over 300 hospitals
Ukraine's President Zelenskyy said on Monday that tens of thousands of people have died as a result of Russia's attack on Mariupol, the country's southern port city.
"Mariupol has been destroyed, there are tens of thousands of dead, but even despite this, the Russians are not stopping their offensive," Zelenskyy said in a video address to South Korean lawmakers.
Mariupol is located between Russian-backed rebels in eastern Ukraine and the Crimean Peninsula, which Moscow annexed in 2014.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine on February 24, Russian soldiers have damaged 938 educational institutions and over 300 hospitals, Zelenskyy said.
Ukraine’s President said that Kremlin soldiers had intentionally devastated residential areas and cities using tanks and artillery.
“There is no hope that Russian rational thinking will prevail and Russia will stop. Russia can only be forced to do this,” Zelenskyy said.
