Fighting in eastern Ukraine will intensify over the next two to three weeks as Russia continues to refocus its efforts there, UK Defence Ministry said in its intelligence report.
“Russian attacks remain focused on Ukrainian positions near Donetsk and Luhansk with further fighting around Kherson and Mykolaiv and a renewed push towards Kramatorsk,” the ministry said.
Russian forces continue to withdraw from Belarus in “order to redeploy in support of operations in eastern Ukraine”, MoD said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's President Zelenskyy said on Monday that tens of thousands of people have died as a result of Russia's attack on Mariupol, the country's southern port city.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine on February 24, Russian soldiers have destroyed 938 educational institutions and over 300 hospitals.
