• The tech giant will start using the new process this week
Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL) will begin using a new process for performance reviews in an attempt to meet employees’ demand of higher salaries and promotions.
The new process, which the tech giant will start using this week, is called GRAD or Google Reviews and Development.
Under the new evaluation process, reviews will be conducted once a year instead of twice, and more responsibility will be put in the hands of managers rather than relying heavily on peer reviews, reported CNBC.
“Under this new process, we expect the majority of Googlers will be modeled for higher pay than they would under the old Perf system and the overall amount paid will increase too,” one of the documents said, reported CNBC.
Google employees have expressed dissatisfaction regarding their pay and complained that other companies offer better pay for similar jobs.
The US has been grappling with workers leaving their jobs at significantly high rates, resulting in workers’ shortage at companies.
Under the new GRAD system, promotions will be decided by management.
