Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) announced on Tuesday it is discontinuing iPod touch, the latest version of the music player.
Apple said it has integrated the feature of carrying one’s music library in its various products including iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac.
The tech giant has first introduced iPod—the portable music player—in 2001 while the first version of the iPod touch was launched in 2007.
Apple said the $199 iPod touch will be available while supplies last.
“Today, the spirit of iPod lives on. We’ve integrated an incredible music experience across all of our products, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and across Mac, iPad, and Apple TV. And Apple Music delivers industry-leading sound quality with support for spatial audio — there’s no better way to enjoy, discover, and experience music,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
