• iPhone-maker cited rising COVID-19 cases for pushing back deadline
• Apple also asked staff to wear mask at 100 US stores
Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) delayed a plan that would require its employees to come back to the office three days a week, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing an internal memo.
The Cupertino giant cited a resurgence in COVID-19 cases, the report said, marking the latest setback in its efforts to return to normal.
In March, Bloomberg reported that after April 11, Apple employees would be required to work from the office twice a week, and from May 23, they would have to work from the office at least three days a week.
The iPhone maker has also told staff to wear masks again in common areas — at least in Silicon Valley offices. Separately, retail employees were informed Tuesday that about 100 US stores would again require mask-wearing by staff members, the report said.
