The United Kingdom announced on Monday that it will provide Ukraine with multiple-launch rocket systems capable of striking targets up to 80 kilometers (50 miles) away.
Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said M270 multiple-launch rocket system will improve Ukraine's defense against Russia.
"As Russia's tactics change, so must our support to Ukraine,” Wallace said.
"These highly capable multiple-launch rocket systems will enable our Ukrainian friends to better protect themselves against the brutal use of long-range artillery, which Putin's forces have used indiscriminately to flatten cities," Defence Secretary said in a statement, BBC reported.
Last week, US President Joe Biden said that the US will equip Ukraine with M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS in exchange for assurances that it would be used only for defensive purposes and not to strike targets within Russia.
