Ukraine's agricultural exports surge 80% in May

    Ukraine's grain, oilseed, and vegetable oil exports increased by 80% month on month in May to 1.743 million tons, although the level remains much lower than shipments in May 2021, said the agricultural ministry.


    According to the government, corn topped the cargo with 959,000 tons, while sunflower oil exports totaled 202,650 tons.

    Wheat exports climbed from 9.2 thousand tons in April to 43.5 thousand tons in May 2022, however, this is about 20 times less than the 857.8 thousand tons exported in May 2021.


    Furthermore, the ministry said, “Actual exports of meal in May amounted to 101 thousand tons, which is 2.6 times more than in April 2022, but still significantly less than in May, when exports of sunflower meal amounted to 440 thousand tons.”
