Toymaker Lego on Wednesday announced plans to invest more than $1 billion to build its first factory in the United States, aiming to shorten supply chains and keep up with the growing demand for its colored plastic bricks in one of its biggest markets.
The factory in Chesterfield County, Virginia, designed to operate as a carbon-neutral manufacturing facility, will be the Danish company’s second factory in North America and seventh worldwide.
