The advisers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday backed authorization of Moderna Inc’s (NASDAQ: MRNA) Covid-19 vaccine for kids ages 6 through 17.

This comes after The US Food and Drug Administration’s committee of independent vaccine experts unanimously voted earlier this month to recommend the two-dose Covid-19 vaccine for kids in this age group.
Covid-19 vaccines of both Pfizer Inc (NYSE: PFE) and BioNTech SE (NASDAQ: BNTX) are already eligible for vaccination of children above the age of 5.
Though, only about 30% of kids ages 5 to 11 and 60% of teens 12 to 17 are fully vaccinated as of early June.
