Russia launched 62 missiles at Ukraine in 24 hours, says Ukrainian leader
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine needs a modern air defense system to prevent Russian missiles after Moscow increased strikes across Kyiv.
“Part of the missiles were shot down. But only part. We need a powerful air defense - modern, fully effective. Which can ensure complete protection against these missiles,” Zelenskyy said in his nightly video address. “And partners need to move faster if they are really partners, not observers.”
Zelenskyy condemned the attack on Kyiv on Sunday, killing a 37-year-old man and injuring at least six others, and said that "the world's second army triumphantly 'defeated' a kindergarten and an apartment building."
“Missiles also hit the Mykolaiv region, the Chernihiv region, Odesa, Cherkasy. Artillery and mortar shelling did not stop in the Kharkiv region, in the Sumy region, in Donbas, in the south of our state,” said Ukraine’s president adding that Russia launched 62 missiles at Ukraine within 24 hours.
