• Spirit postponed the vote hours before the meeting
Spirit Airlines Inc (NYSE: SAVE) again delayed the shareholder vote on its merger with Frontier Group Holdings Inc (NASDAQ: ULCC) until July 8.
Spirit postponed the vote hours before the meeting as the airline struggles to reach a decision regarding its merger either with Frontier or JetBlue Airways Corp (NASDAQ: JBLU).
Spirit has delayed the vote for the second time which was earlier scheduled on June 10 but got postponed to June 30.
This comes as both Frontier and JetBlue have sweetened their offer for Spirit.
“We compliment the Spirit Board for listening to their shareholders, who clearly were not supportive of the Frontier transaction, and adjourning the Special Meeting,” JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes said in a statement.
“It’s clear that Spirit shareholders have now handed the Spirit Board an undeniable mandate to reach an agreement with JetBlue.”
