Russia claims to have shot down Ukrainian fighter planes
- During the operation, 247 Ukrainian planes and 137 helicopters, as well as 1,522 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed
Russia's defense ministry in its latest intelligence report said its forces shot down four Ukrainian military aircraft in the Mykolaiv area in southern Ukraine.
Russian fighter planes destroyed a Su-25 and Su-24, both Soviet-era jets utilized by the Ukrainian air force, over the Donetsk area of eastern Ukraine, along with another Su-25 and a Mig-29, said the defense ministry.
“High-precision air-based missiles destroyed over 350 AFU soldiers and 20 units of military equipment of Kakhovka task force reserve at a shipyard in Mykolaiv city,” the report said.
During the operation, 247 Ukrainian planes and 137 helicopters, as well as 1,522 unmanned aerial vehicles, 354 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4,050 tanks, and other armored combat vehicles, 744 multiple launch rocket systems, 3,145 field artillery and mortars, and 4,192 units of special military vehicles were destroyed.
