A judge set a hearing for Twitter Inc’s (NYSE: TWTR) proceedings on July 19 as the social media company requested a fast-track trial for its lawsuit against Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) CEO Elon Musk.
Delaware Chancery Court Chief Judge Kathaleen Jude McCormick said in a letter Thursday that Twitter’s call for an “expedition” of its case over the transaction will be heard in a Wilmington courtroom.
Twitter alleged that Musk wrongfully canceled his proposed $44 billion buyout of the social media platform.
Lawyers for the San Francisco-based Twitter said they need only four days to prove that the world’s richest person should be forced to honor his agreement and pay $54.20 a share for Twitter, Bloomberg reported.
