McDonald’s Corp (NYSE: MCD) on Wednesday hiked the price of its cheeseburger in the UK for the first time in 14 years.
The fast-food chain said the cost of the burger will increase by 20% to 1.19 euros, up from 99 pence.
The last time McDonald’s hiked the price of its cheeseburger was during the 2008 global financial crisis.
Other than cheeseburger, the company has also increased prices of its McNugget share boxes, breakfast meals, and upgrades from medium to large meals.
The price hike is implemented due to soaring inflation, the company said.
