Russian forces began a missile strike on the Kyiv area for the first time in weeks, while Ukrainian soldiers concentrated in the country's south.
According to Ukrainian sources, Russia also assaulted the northern Chernihiv area, which is located northeast of Kyiv and close to the Belarus border.
“The Russian army launched missile attacks on Kyiv Oblast, Kropyvnytskyi, hit Mykolaiv, continued a series of strategically senseless and brutal assaults on Donbas,” Kyiv regional Governor Oleksiy Kuleba said on Telegram.
According to Reuters, Kuleba said that missiles damaged military sites in the Vyshhorod neighborhood on the outskirts of Kyiv, injuring 15 people.
