Estée Lauder is in talks to buy Tom Ford: WSJ

Estée Lauder Cos. (NYSE: EL) is in talks to buy luxury brand Tom Ford in a deal worth $3 billion or more, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Estée Lauder, whose brands include MAC, Clinique, La Mer and Aveda, has a market value of nearly $100 billion.

The WSJ report, though, said that the deal is not confirmed as there are other interested buyers for Tom Ford as well.

Tom Ford, which mostly sells menswear and has also stepped in womenswear, accessories and high-end line of cosmetics and fragrances, has been up for sale, reported Bloomberg in early July.
