Three more grain ships leave Ukraine port as part of momentous deal
- The vessels are carrying around 58,000 tonnes of corn from Ukraine
Three ships stocked with grain under a recently signed arrangement have departed Ukrainian ports, said the Turkish defense ministry.
The Joint Coordination Centre in Istanbul, which includes Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, and UN employees, said that two ships were departing from Chornomorske and one from Odesa.
“The Panama-flagged NAVISTAR, carrying 33 thousand tons of corn and going from Ukraine to Ireland, departed from Odesa Port,” the Turkish ministry of defense said in a tweet. “The ship will be inspected by the Joint Coordination Center in the north of Istanbul.”
The second ship carrying 13 thousand tons of corn departed from Chernomorsk Port to go from Ukraine to England, said Turkish ministry, adding that the course of the Maltese-flagged ship ROJEN is also monitored moment by moment by the Joint Coordination Center.
