A memorandum between Turkey and Ukraine to assist in restoring Ukraine's infrastructure, notably its roads and bridges, has been signed.

Oleksandr Kubrakov, the Ukrainian minister of infrastructure, and Mehmet Mus, the Turkish minister of trade, both signed the contract.

"Türkiyeis our strategic ally. We are grateful to our Turkish partners for their willingness to cooperate in the recovery of the infrastructure destroyed by Russia, Oleksandr Kubrakov said in a statement.

“The Turkish business has extensive experience in the construction of roads and bridges, in particular, the Zaporizhzhia and Kremenchuk bridges, and has proven itself as a reliable partner.”

The first significant piece of infrastructure expected to be reconstructed as part of the deal is the bridge that connected Bucha and Irpin and was destroyed during the start of the Russian invasion.

A joint Ukrainian-Turkish working group on reconstruction-related problems will soon be established, and it will be within this group that the procedures for enticing Turkish investment in particular projects will be developed.
