The Camp Hill, Pennsylvania-based company said it had a loss of $6.07 per share. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 63 cents per share.
The drugstore chain posted revenue of $5.9 billion in the period.
Rite Aid expects full-year results to range from a loss of $1.52 per share to a loss of 97 cents per share, with revenue in the range of $23.6 billion to $24 billion.
