Caught between Israeli forces threatening a ground offensive in northern Gaza and Hamas militants trying to force them to stay, Palestinians face a humanitarian crisis. More than one million people have fled their homes and moved south but the continuing siege is making matters worse each day.   

Israeli forces, supported by U.S. warships, took position along Gaza’s border, an Associated Press report said.
