On a per-share basis, the Stamford, Connecticut-based company said it had net income of 86 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 90 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 81 cents per share.
The maker of aerospace, electronics and engineered industrial products posted revenue of $532.9 million in the period.
Crane expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.55 to $4.85 per share, with revenue expected to be $2.25 billion.
