UK zoo welcomes first Bactrian camel calf in 8 years
The fluffy Bactrian calf, named Sally, was born on April 11 at Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire. Whipsnade Zoo’s domestic Bactrian camels act as an ambassador species for their critically endangered cousins’ the wild camel, or Camelus ferus, in Mongolia and China, the zoo explained.
