AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep 10, 2024--

Infinitum, creator of the sustainable air-core motor, today announced its Aircore EC motor system has won a 2024 Excellence in Product Engineering Award from Engineered Systems in the motors and drives category.

The prestigious awards program recognizes the most innovative products designed with HVAC engineers in mind across eight categories: Commercial Controls/BAS/BIM, Cooling Towers/Chillers, Heating/Boilers, IAQ & Ventilation, Motors/Drives, Pumps/Flow Controls, Rooftop Units, and VRV/VRF. A panel of independent engineers selected winners based on criteria including energy savings, ease of installation and value.

Infinitum’s winning product, the Aircore EC motor system, is used in a variety of fans, pumps, and compressors to sustainably cool some of the largest buildings and data center facilities in the world. When compared to conventional motors driving these applications, it is more than 20% more efficient, half the weight and uses 66% less copper while being significantly quieter.

While most HVAC equipment on the market today uses motors that have more horsepower than the application requires, Infinitum allows engineers the unprecedented ability to specify a motor’s precise HP/RPM requirements, reducing energy, electrical and wiring costs. Additionally, the motor’s compact form factor enables a variety of horizontal, vertical and peripheral mounting options, which means engineers can use space more effectively or reduce space requirements. The Infinitum motor is also designed with modularity and a reduced number of mechanical components that make it more reliable, and simpler to service, reuse or remanufacture, keeping motors out of landfills.

“Our next-generation Aircore EC motor system offers a leap forward when it comes to efficiency, serviceability and sustainability and opens design possibilities for HVAC engineers,” said Ben Schuler, founder and CEO of Infinitum. “Being recognized for the Aircore EC’s excellence in product design by HVAC engineers in the field is quite an honor, and a testament to our team's experience, understanding of what engineers really need and their dedication to continuous innovation.”
