Walmart Expected to Deliver Higher Revenue and Earnings
Analysts think top retail company could deliver $0.64 earnings per share for Q4 FY2025
U.S. retail giant Walmart (WMT) is expected to turn in strong numbers for the third quarter ending January 31, 2025. Analysts reckon the top US company by revenue, scheduled to announce its earnings on February 20, could report 0.64 earnings per share, compared to $0.60 reported in the same quarter of the previous year.
The Bentonville, Arkansas-based company that has surpassed the Wall Street estimates in four previous quarters, is expected to come up with better-than-expected revenue and profit numbers.
A Yahoo Finance report projects quarterly revenues of $179.25 billion, up 3.4% from the year-ago quarter.
The company reported $168 billion in revenue for the quarter ended October 31, 2024, marking 5.4% year-over-year increase from $159.4 billion.
Increase in EPS expected
According to Zacks Investment Research that cites 15 analysts, the EPS for the fourth quarter is likely to be $0.64, a 6.7% increase from the same quarter last year when the company’s per-share earnings were $0.60.

A report in Investopedia said that 20 of the 21 analysts it contacted expected the company to exceed expectations and gave a "buy" rating for the stock that closed the week ended February 14, 2025 at $104.04. The stock opened the week at $101.95.
Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said in a statement in the report for the quarter ended October 31, 2024 that he was confidence the company would carry forward the momentum that it gained through the first three quarters of FY2025 into the fourth quarter. “We had a strong quarter, continuing our momentum. Our associates are working hard to save people time and money and to transform our business. In the U.S., in-store volumes grew, pickup from store grew faster, and delivery from store grew even faster than that. Our teams are executing and delighting our customers and members with the value and convenience they expect from Walmart,” he stated in the last quarterly filing.
