US Real Hourly Earnings Edge Up in March

CPI for urban wage earners remain unchanged over the month
Real average hourly earnings for production and nonsupervisory employees increased 0.2 percent from February to March, seasonally adjusted, the Bureau of Labor Statistics has reported.
Meanwhile, the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) remained unchanged.

The real average hourly earnings in March were $11.26, up from $11.23 in February. The earnings in March last year were $11.11.
Average workweek earnings
Real average weekly earnings increased 0.8% over the month due to the change in real average hourly earnings combined with a 0.6% increase in the average workweek.
The real average weekly earnings for March rose to $385.21 from $384.06in February and $382.13 in March 2024.
From March 2024 to March 2025, real average hourly earnings increased 1.6%, seasonally adjusted. There was no change in the average workweek.
