LG DEBUTS END-TO-END COOLING SOLUTION TO MEET INCREASING DEMANDS OF HIGH-CAPACITY DATA CENTERS

Data Center World 2025 will feature LG's direct-to-chip, room, and chiller plant cooling capabilities to increase efficiency

WASHINGTON, April 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Global HVAC technology leader LG Electronics is debuting a full suite of data center cooling solutions at Data Center World 2025. Designed to address the increasing demands of high-capacity data centers, LG's innovative portfolio offers an end-to-end cooling solution, effectively managing heat from data center chips to external heat rejection while also optimizing room cooling. These solutions aim to enhance efficiency and help reduce downtime in this mission-critical industry. Attendees can explore these innovations at LG's booth (#633).

Data Center World 2025, held April 14-17 in Washington, D.C., comes as the global demand for data center capacity is expected to grow between 19 and 22 percent annually through 2030.1 As data center capacity expands, so does the challenge of managing the heat generated by high-performance chips. LG's cutting-edge cooling technologies are intended to meet this challenge head-on, helping provide reliable, energy-efficient solutions, according to LG Electronics USA Senior Vice President Steve Scarbrough, general manager of LG Air Conditioning Technologies.

"Between the data for our phones on the go, our laptops at work and our smart TVs at home, data centers play a crucial role in our day-to-day lives, and cooling solutions are a critical component for equipment to run as expected," said Scarbrough. "LG aims to be a unique player in the market, helping to meet demands of future data center projects and make specifying and development easier with our efficient end-to-end cooling solution offerings."

Data Center World 2025 marks the official launch of LG's proven cooling technologies for the U.S. data center market. Highlights of LG's data center cooling solutions on display include:

  • Cold Plate – This cooling solution for high-powered chips in data centers can provide enhanced leak protection and can be optimized for a customer's specific needs, including chip length and height and with machine learning software.
  • Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) – With a compact design, LG's CDU can provide high efficiency and reliability with LG Virtual Sensor technology that enables continuous operation and helps diagnose sensor failure prediction.
  • Computer Room Air Handler (CRAH) – LG's solution offers convenient installation, maintenance, high-efficiency LG 3D Blade EC Fans and low static pressure oval coils. Features are applied for efficiency.

Leveraging its HVAC cooling innovations unveiled at Data Center World, LG is joining forces with Microsoft on AI data centers. With LG's thermal management systems and advanced chiller technologies optimized for AI data centers, this new alliance aims to enhance energy efficiency in these critical backbones of AI infrastructure. Together, Microsoft and LG plan to create next-generation data centers that are more efficient and sustainable.

Mission-critical cooling technologies to support the explosive growth of U.S. AI data centers will be discussed during a special Data Center World "Solution Spotlight" session at noon on Wed., April 16. Taking the Expo Hall Stage, LG's Jae Yoon Koh will explain the importance of Cutting Down Carbon Footprints by Optimization of Energy and Water Consumption.
