Overview
Diana Reid is Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors at Freddie Mac, one of the largest providers of mortgage financing in the United States. As CEO, she oversees the company’s business units and all aspects of its operations. A seasoned executive, Diana brings more than four decades of banking, real estate, capital markets and affordable housing experience to Freddie Mac, where she oversees the company’s efforts to provide liquidity, stability and affordability for housing in communities across the country, while ensuring safety and soundness.
From July 2020 to December 2024, Diana Reid served on the board of directors of Welltower , as independent director, member of the Audit Committee, and as Chair of its Nominating Corporate Governance Committee.
Previously, Diana spent nearly 12 years leading PNC Financial Services Group, Inc.’s real estate business division through the financial crisis and on to a period of significant growth. She also spent nearly 20 years at the investment bank formerly known as Credit Suisse First Boston in Mortgage Trading, Debt Capital Markets and Financial Institutions Advisory.

Diana Reid is the Australian author of the bestselling novels Love & Virtue and Seeing Other People. Her debut, Love & Virtue, won the ABIA Book of the Year Award, the ABIA Literary Fiction Book of the Year Award, the ABA Booksellers’ Choice Fiction Book of the Year Award, and the MUD Literary Prize. She was also named a Sydney Morning Herald Best Young Australian Novelist in 2022. Born in Sydney, she is currently based in London. Signs of Damage is her third novel.
