Heyward Donigan

Heyward Donigan is the president and chief executive officer of Rite Aid (RAD) in August 2019. Rite Aid delivers health care services and retail products to over one million Americans daily. 

Prior to Rite Aid, Donigan was president and chief executive officer of Sapphire Digital.

Before Sapphire Digital, Donigan served as president and chief executive officer of ValueOptions, an independent behavioral health improvement company. 

Earlier, Donigan served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Premera Blue Cross.

Donigan also served as senior vice president of all operations at Cigna Healthcare and held executive roles at General Electric, Empire BCBS and U.S. Healthcare.

Donigan holds a master’s of public administration from New York University. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Virginia.
