Mark S. Ordan

Mark S. Ordan is a Chief Executive Officer of Mednax, Inc.(MD) . Mark Ordan joined Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. as chief executive officer in July 2020. He became executive chair of the board effective at the end of 2022.

Prior to joining Pediatrix, Mr. Ordan founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of Quality Care Properties, a real estate investment trust. Mr. Ordan served as Chief Executive Officer of Washington Prime Group, from its inception as a spinoff of the Simon Property Group.

Ordan has held a number of additional leadership roles including CEO of Sunrise Senior Living, The Mills Corporation, Balducci’s, and was founder and CEO of Fresh Fields Markets, which he later merged with Whole Foods Markets.

Ordan received his BA from Vassar College, and his MBA from Harvard Business School. He received the Hitchcock Humanitarian Award from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is an inductee of the Washington Business Hall of Fame.

Ordan is the Board Chair of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and serves on the boards of Pediatrix, The Carlyle Group, Vassar College, and Holton-Arms School.

Ordan is a member of our Board of Directors. Mr. Ordan was elected to our Board of Directors effective April 1, 2022, and is a member of the Compensation Committee. Mr. Ordan was appointed as Executive Chair of Pediatrix Medical Group in January 2023 and formerly served as its Chief Executive Officer from July 2020 through December 2022. Prior to joining Pediatrix Medical Group, Mr. Ordan founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of Quality Care Properties after serving as founding Chief Executive Officer of Washington Prime Group. Mr. Ordan has held a number of CEO roles including at Sunrise Senior Living, The Mills Corporation, Balducci’s, and was founder and CEO of Fresh Fields Markets, which he later merged with Whole Foods Markets. Mr. Ordan is the Executive Chair of Pediatrix Medical Group, the Board Chair of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and is a board member of The Carlyle Group.
