Overview
Joseph Hinrichs is the President of CSX Transportation.
Prior to joining CSX, one of North America’s leading suppliers of rail-based transportation services, in 2022, Hinrichs served as president of Ford Motor Company’s global automotive business, where he led its $160-billion automotive operations. As part of this role, he oversaw Ford’s global business units and the Ford and Lincoln brands, as well as leading all of Ford’s automotive skill teams in such areas as product development, purchasing, manufacturing, labor affairs, marketing and sales, government affairs, information technology, and sustainability, safety and environmental engineering. During his tenure at Ford, Hinrichs also served as executive vice president and president of Global Operations, executive vice president and president of the Americas, president of Asia Pacific and Africa, chairman and chief executive officer of Ford China, and president and chief executive officer of Ford Canada.
Hinrichs also serves as a director for CSX Corporation and as chairman of the board for Exide Technologies, a leading provider of batteries and stored energy solutions.
