George Schindler

George Schindler is the CEO of CGI Group,Inc.(GIB). Since his appointment to the position in October 2016, he has led the development and implementation of the company’s “Build and Buy” profitable growth strategy to strengthen CGI’s market position as one of the world’s leading global business and strategic IT consulting services firms.

Together with his global leadership team, Mr. Schindler guides CGI’s consultants and professionals as they partner with clients to lead, innovate, and deliver on the transformational power of technology in a digitally connected world. A particular focus of Mr. Schindler’s is enabling everyday innovation at the project level to help clients achieve tangible business returns on their digitization investments.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, Mr. Schindler served as President and Chief Operating Officer since May 2015, when he led the company’s global operations. Mr. Schindler has served in numerous leadership roles across CGI’s operations and its end-to-end services portfolio. He joined CGI through the company’s acquisition of American Management Systems, Inc. (AMS) and subsequently led the strategy and growth of the U.S. business serving commercial and government clients. In prior leadership roles, Mr. Schindler led the company’s Canadian operations, its portfolio of banking and investments intellectual property (IP), and was responsible for operations in the Greater New York region.

From 2006 to 2011, Mr. Schindler served as President of CGI Federal, a wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary serving U.S. government clients. As President, he led the integration of a $1 billion acquisition, adding capabilities and scale to the overall U.S. business.
