operations and management, skilled in Petroleum, Gas, Operations Management, Oilfield, and Pipelines.

Bill Way is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Southwestern Energy Company. He was named President of the Company in December 2014 and has held the Chief Operating Officer title since he joined Southwestern in 2011. He is a distinguished Oil and Gas Executive with over 30 years of international leadership experience in offshore and unconventional oil and gas exploration & production, LNG manufacturing and re-gasification, global shipping, and joint venture management.

Prior to joining Southwestern, he was Senior Vice President of America for BG Group. From 1981 until 2007, he held various senior technical and leadership positions at ConocoPhillips where he worked as the President and Managing Director for Phoenix Park Gas in Trinidad, the Business Development General Manager for Conoco UK, and finally as the President of Dubai Petroleum Company. 

He has served as the Director and Vice-Chairman of the Cameron School of Business Board at the University of St. Thomas, as President of the Sloan Fellows Board of Governors at M.I.T., as Chairman of the American School of Dubai Board of Trustees, as Director of the International School of Aberdeen in Scotland, and Director of Saint Andrew’s School in Trinidad. He now lends his expertise and leadership to the Full Time MBA Advisory Board for Mays. He was the recipient of the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award from Texas A&M University. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Country.
