Mark D. Millett presently is President, Chief Executive Officer & Director at Steel Dynamics, Inc., (STLD). 

In his past career Mr. Millett held the position of Chief Metallurgist at Nucor Corp., President & Chief Operating Officer of OmniSource Corp., Executive VP-Flat Rolled Steel Operations at The Techs and Executive Vice President-Metals Recycling at Ferrous Resources Ltd. 

Mark D. Millett co-founded the company in 1993. In May 2021, Mr. Millett was named Chairman of the Board. Mr. Millett has been our President and Chief Executive Officer since January 2012. 

Prior to that, he held various positions within the company, including President and Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President of Metals Recycling and Ferrous Resources, and Executive Vice President of Flat Roll Operations. Mr. Millett was responsible for the design, construction, and start-up operation of all of our steel mills, including our Butler, Indiana flat roll, melting, and casting operations.

Mr. Millett currently serves as Chairman of the Steel Manufacturers Association (SMA). In 2019, Mr. Millett was named the recipient of the James F. Collins Achievement in Advocacy Award by the SMA. In 2014, Mr. Millett was named Steelmaker of the Year by the Association of Iron and Steel Technology.
