This is the second war crimes judgment since Russia's invasion began in February.
Last Monday, Alexander Bobikin and Alexander Ivanov, who stood in a reinforced glass box at the Kotelevska district court in central Ukraine to hear the judgment, pled guilty.
According to the prosecution, the shelling destroyed an educational building in the town of Derhachi but caused no injuries.
Bobikin and Ivanov, identified as an artillery driver and a gunner, were arrested after crossing the border and continuing the firing.
Last week, A Ukrainian court condemned a Russian soldier to lifetime imprisonment for killing an unarmed civilian in the first war crimes trial during Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian government has accused Russia of atrocities and violence against people during the invasion, claiming that over 10,000 suspected war crimes have been found.
