- Moscow official says ‘Russia is not squeaky clean……not ashamed of showing who we are'
Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said in an exclusive interview with BBC that his country "did not invade Ukraine."
“We declared a special military operation because we had absolutely no other way of explaining to the West that dragging Ukraine into NATO was a criminal act,” Sergey Lavrov said in an interview.
When a BBC reporter asked, "Is that fighting Nazis?"
“It's a great pity," Lavrov said, "but international diplomats, including the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Secretary-General, and other UN representatives, are being put under pressure by the West. And very often they're being used to amplify fake news spread by the West."
"Russia is not squeaky clean. Russia is what it is. And we are not ashamed of showing who we are."
When questioned about Russia's relationship with the United Kingdom, Lavrov stated that there was no longer any space for a maneuver.
“Because Johnson and Truss claim publicly that we must defeat Russia, We must bring it to its knees. Well, go on, do it,” he told BBC.
