• The company said FDA overlooked more than 6,000 pages of data
Juul Labs Inc said on Tuesday the US Food and Drug Administration overlooked a major part of its application while banning the company’s e-cigarettes citing public health hazards.
In court filings on Tuesday, Juul said the health agency overlooked more than 6,000 pages of data that it submitted in its application.
“FDA’s order acknowledged that ‘exposure to carcinogens and other toxicants present in cigarette smoke were greatly reduced with exclusive use’ of Juul products compared with combustible cigarettes,” Juul said in court documents.
Juul on Friday had appealed in a federal appeals court to block FDA’s decision to ban its e-cigarette products from the market.
