The US Food and Drug Administration said on Thursday Abbott Laboratories (NYSE: ABT) will reopen its baby formula manufacturing plant in Sturgis within one or two weeks.
The biggest supplier of powder infant formula in the US, Abbott, which sent millions of cans of infant formula powder into the US last week, agreed to resume production at the plant in Michigan.
In February, the company had recalled some baby formulas after complaints about bacterial infections in infants who had consumed the products.
