Ukraine says it has averted Russian attack near Sloviansk
- Kyiv says Russian forces are bombarding Ukraine's second-largest city of Kharkiv and adjacent areas
Ukraine claims to have successfully repelled a Russian attack on the communities of Dovhenke and Dolyna, near the city of Sloviansk.
“Ukrainian defenders successfully repulsed the assault in the direction of Dovhenke and Dolyna settlements,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in the latest update on Facebook. “It is not excluded that the enemy will continue to conduct offensive operations to improve the tactical position and create favorable conditions for conducting an offensive in the direction of Izyum - Slovyansk.”
Meanwhile, ahead of safe grain shipment talks in Turkey, Ukraine on Wednesday said the enemy's naval group concentrates its efforts in the Black Sea and Azov sea zones on stopping civilian commerce. “Four Kalibr sea-based cruise missile carriers are kept ready for missile strikes.”
Ukraine's armed forces claimed that Russian forces were bombarding Ukraine's second-largest city of Kharkiv and adjacent communities, as well as nonstop artillery shelling of regions near Sloviansk in Donetsk.
