The UK government will send dozens of artillery guns, drones, and anti-tank weaponry to Ukraine in the next weeks said UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace.
“The scale and range of equipment we are providing demonstrate the strength of our resolve. Together with our international partners, we will ensure Ukraine has the tools to defend their country from Putin’s illegal invasion,” said Wallace in a statement.
More than 20 M109 155mm self-propelled guns and 36 L119 105mm artillery weapons will also be included in the latest military aid package.
The UK defense minister also mentioned counter-battery radar equipment and over 50,000 rounds of ammunition for Ukraine's existing Soviet-era artillery along with the delivery of over 1,600 additional anti-tank missiles, as well as drones and hundreds more loitering aerial explosives.
So far, Ukraine has received 6,900 NLAW, Javelin, Brimstone, and other anti-tank weaponry, as well as 16,000 artillery rounds, six Stormer vehicles outfitted with Starstreak anti-air missile launchers, and hundreds of missiles.
The financing, which increases UK military support and broader regional engagement since the outset of the conflict to £2.3 billion, will usher in a new era of international assistance.
