The U.N. organization that led deal to let agricultural supplies export from Ukraine's ports said it anticipates export capacity to increase to up to 5 million tons per month.

“Crops from Ukraine are sold around the world. Some of the food exported under the Initiative will go to countries experiencing food insecurity,” the U.N. wrote in a fact sheet about the Black Sea Grain Initiative, brokered by the U.N., Ukraine, Russia, and Turkey.

“Any shipment purchased by the World Food Programme will go directly to people in need. Exports to any country, however, can help to calm markets and limit food price inflation,” the factsheet added.

Two more grain-carrying ships have left Ukraine's Chornomorsk port as part of an agreement to unblock the Ukrainian port, said the Turkish defense ministry earlier on Tuesday.

UN and Turkey were negotiating an arrangement to restore Ukraine's Black Sea grain exports for last two months while also facilitating Russian grain and fertilizer supplies.
