Dollar General Corp (NYSE: DG) is being hit with fine of nearly $1.3 million related to worker safety violations, the Department of Labor said on Monday.
After visits by federal inspectors to company’s Georgia locations, the department said it found violations such as obstructed exit routes, unsafely stacked merchandise and electrical panels that were difficult to access.
The company has 15 days to comply with the penalties.
“The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed more than $6.5 million in penalties after 78 inspections at Dollar General locations nationwide, including more than $450,000 in penalties as a result of three inspections in Georgia, since 2017,” the department said in a statement.
