US House chair demands Twitter CEO answer whistleblower allegations
• Democratic representatives Bennie Thompson and Yvette Clarke sent the letter to Twitter
US House of Representatives Homeland Security and a key subcommittee on Thursday demanded Twitter Inc (NYSE: TWTR) Chief Executive Parag Agrawal address "disturbing whistleblower allegations regarding poor security and privacy practices."
Homeland Security Committee Chair Bennie Thompson and Chair of Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection & Innovation Yvette Clarke, in a letter to the social media company, asked to detail its preparations for the 2022 elections and answer allegations raised by former Twitter security chief Peiter "Mudge" Zatko that the social media company misled regulators.
However, Agrawal on Wednesday said the whistleblower’s accusations are “foundationally, technically and historically inaccurate."
