The video that the Associated Press has sourced from WJAC broadcaster shows a handcuffed Luigi Mangione, charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on December 4 in Manhattan, arriving at the Blair County Courthouse in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania for his arraignment proceedings.
Police picked up Mangione following the suspicion of an employee of McDonald’s in Altoona. Mangione was arrested with a gun that appeared like the one that was used to shoot dead Thompson on the sidewalk outside his hotel, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a news conference.
Mangione was born and raised in Maryland, has connections to San Francisco, and his last known address is in Honolulu, Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said at a news briefing.
Mangione has been charged with weapons, forgery and other charges in Pennsylvania. He was arraigned and ordered held without bail.
